On August 23rd, 2022, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between A79 Joint Stock Company and Hanoi Architectural University was held at 33 Ba Trieu street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi city. After that, the workshop “Bamboo in Eco-Architecture” took place and marked another special highlight for the A79 members that morning.
At the event, on the side of Alphanam Group and A79 Joint Stock Company, there were Chairman Nguyen Tuan Hai; Mr. Bui Hoang Tuan – Member of the Board of Directors of A79 JSC; Mr. Ngo Trung Hai – Chairman of the Board of Directors of A79 Joint Stock Company and other A79 members.
On the side of Hanoi University of Architecture, there was the presence of Assoc. Dr. Le Quan – Principal of the school; Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh – Vice Rector; Dr. Le Chien Thang – Director of the Institute of Training & International Cooperation; Prof. Pham Thi Thu Huyen – Deputy Director of the Institute of Training & International Cooperation; Dr. Vuong Hai Long – Dean of Faculty of Architecture; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hong Cuong – Dean of Faculty of Interior; Prof. Nguyen Tri Dung – Vice Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts Design; Dr. Nguyen Minh Nhat – Deputy Director of the Center for Capacity Building and Urban Research; Dr. Tran Hai Nam – Secretary of the university delegation and members are lecturers from the Institute of Training & International Cooperation and the faculties of Hanoi University of Architecture.

Hanoi Architectural University is one of the leading universities in training construction and design in Vietnam, affiliated to the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam, here gathers many scientists and researchers who have been participating in many practical projects, making valuable contributions to society.
At the opening remark, Assoc. Dr. Le Quan – Rector of the University of Architecture emphasized on the “meeting” between the university and Alphanam, which is the positive spirit in organizing social activities of both sides: “I hope the cooperation will open many programs to help all teachers and scientists of Hanoi University of Architecture to contribute more to society. With a development history of 27 years, Alphanam has had a positive impact on the community over the years. Hopefully, this cooperation will open up the opportunities for students of Hanoi University of Architecture in the fields of architecture, construction, interior design, art design, urban management, etc.; support A79 Joint Stock Company; further contribute to the development of urban architecture and planning in Vietnam at a very fast rate of urbanization context”.

Following the speech of Assoc. Dr. Le Quan, Dr. arch. Ngo Trung Hai introduced the strengths of Alphanam, A79 Joint Stock Company and emphasized: “Alphanam is ambitious to build iconic works for the country, industrial parks and tourist areas with social efficiency, and contribute to architecture, ideology and environment”.

Right after the opening remark, Mr. Ngo Trung Hai representing A79 Joint Stock Company and Mr. Le Quan representing Hanoi University of Architecture signed a cooperation agreement in the main areas: organizing events, seminars, exhibition; media-information to the market, sharing information about each other; training – teaching and learning-practicing…
After the sharing of the both sides’ representatives, Chairman Nguyen Tuan Hai had emotional confidants: “There is something very connected between me and construction. Throughout the development journey, Alphanam has always been attached to the construction and architectural profession and always wishes to bring increasingly improved quality products to society. I often tell A79 members how we can proudly create works that “have our name etched on life”. I hope that Alphanam and Hanoi Architectural University will make a true comprehensive cooperation to turn the dreams and aspirations of Vietnamese people into works to be proud of.”

At the same time, the Chairman shared about the practical meaning of the theme “Bamboo” for the Alphanam people: “The Muong Hoa Sa Pa Cultural Park project with an area of 100ha has an entire Bamboo forest, completely embracing the JW Marriott hotel designed by “architectural wizard” Bill Bensley. Considered as a typical symbol of Muong Hoa Sa Pa Cultural Park.”, bamboo is to be imprinted in the project architecture.
The representatives of the two sides exchanged gifts to mark cooperation
Following the signing ceremony is the presentation of Arch Nguyen Manh Tuan – Lecturer at the Institute of Training & International Cooperation, Hanoi University of Architecture; Founder of KECHO COLLECTIVE Co., Ltd. in Hanoi, Vietnam and New York, USA. He is the World Bamboo Ambassador, who has had the opportunity to interact with many international experts. Presenting on the topic “Bamboo in ecological architecture”, Mr. Tuan introduced bamboo architectural projects with different scopes and affirmed: “Bamboo trees are both ecologically and culturally meaningful. They never stay alone.”
At the end of the program, Arch Nguyen Manh Tuan worked on a Q & A session to share more about the assessment of compression and tensile strength of bamboo rods, fire prevention and ventilation, and the differences of bamboo application in the Northwest culture and in the lowland culture.

For thousands of years, bamboo has become a valuable tree in the spiritual life of Vietnamese people. Mr. Ngo Trung Hai affirmed about its usefulness: “I believe A79 will have many opportunities to work on bamboo. If you know how to make use of it, bamboo will be endless!”
The cooperation between Hanoi University of Architecture and A79 Joint Stock Company will open up lots of development opportunities for both sides, promising to create a comprehensive team of talented architects in the future and to build valuable works and contribute to our Vietnam.
